Dunkermotoren is betting on modular motion control platforms to accelerate machine development

Our exhibitor Dunkermotoren, booth O324, a subsidiary of the group AMETEK, highlights its new approach to modular motion control platforms, designed to meet a well-known challenge for machine designers: ever shorter development cycles, a multiplication of product variants and increasing system complexity.

Combine rather than reinvent

Rather than developing entirely custom systems for each project, this modular architecture allows OEMs to combine proven components within a standardized platform: motors, gearboxes, encoders, brakes, electronics, and software are aligned to ensure compatibility and simplify integration. The result: reduced technical complexity and a faster transition from design to implementation.

A broad technological foundation

This approach leverages Dunkermotoren's comprehensive portfolio of drive technologies—brushed and brushless DC motors, AC motors, linear drives, gearboxes, encoders, braking systems, and integrated or external electronics. Combined, these components reduce engineering effort, enable rapid adaptation to evolving needs, allow for the deployment of a single technological base across multiple machine families, and deliver consistent performance while optimizing development resources.
These modular solutions are already being used in applications as varied as conveying and intralogistics systems, AGVs and AMRs, packaging and production machines, agricultural equipment, access systems, medical equipment, laboratory automation, and machine tools.

From integrated electronics to services-driven

Beyond the hardware, Dunkermotoren is enriching its digital services platform via nexofox Digital twins based on Asset Administration Shell (AAS) technology provide standardized access to product, operational, and condition data throughout the lifecycle, facilitating integration into Industry 4.0 and Factory-X environments. Predictive maintenance services complement the system by directly capturing wear and operating data to anticipate deviations and reduce unplanned downtime.
This approach positions modularity not simply as a technical framework, but as a genuine business advantage for machine manufacturers.
